PLANT x PERU 2026

A letter from our lead facilitator:

Our boat traces the ripples I left here ten years ago. Tears that became tendrils once the seeds cracked open and pushed towards the light after fear of suffocation. The current is the same—and altogether different. So am I.

Participants and I are interspersed with locals to and from work. A pair of students from University, the girl being first generation indigenous to expand into the city life.

We have been here for four days—or four years—it’s unclear if calendars exist in the humid space-time of jungle life.

And that’s just how it is in both the language of matter and the liminal. Everything is incubating in a harvest of life, death, and the places in between.

The immersion here is a macro experiment of being part of that breathing ecosystem. 4:30 am jungle walks and medicine plants. Meditation and confrontation of spiders both real and along cobwebs of the mind. Wrapping our hearts around a 500 year young grandmother tree, harvesting plantains, plating with elders, playing with kittens and kids, and praying over our plated chicken that danced freely moments before.

I made a promise to return to this very special place in Peru to plant, learn, and share the lessons reborn in me. I told the jungle I’d “find the others” and bring them back when I returned. What we received in reciprocity was so much more than we could ever give.

Where itinerary threatens overly organized thoughts and words unravel the importance of our actions, here are some images that capture the close of our 2025 Immersion.
